Fabio Canino
“The ’70s? They were difficult years for our country; the news of the time speaks for itself. But they were also years of great social openness. The first private radio and TV stations were born, and I still remember the thrill of my first radio dedication; I requested ‘The Best Disco in Town.'”
I remember the desire to break the mold, to escape the daily routine, and the longing to have fun. Disco music, which is ultimately the soundtrack of my life, along with all its legends, had the merit of accelerating, if not accompanying, all the major social changes taking place. Social barriers were broken down by music, not by man. In my own small way, I believe I also contributed to this: ‘Cronache Marziane’ had the merit of bringing ’70s-’80s disco back to TV after many years.
Fashion in the ’70s? It was devoted to a taste for exaggeration, and colorful, unique accessories reigned supreme, always and in every case. It is no coincidence that today people seek out vintage accessories.”
