THE BEGINNING OF THE CAREER: “I started playing in 1978. The venue where I played my first record: Pink Panther.”

RADIO MEMORIES: “My first experience in radio was at a private station (which emerged precisely in that period): Radio Sesto International. It had very little that was international, but for that era broadcasting in the Florence and Prato area was like being international. When the wind blew, sometimes the antenna would shift and we had to go move it by hand…and the radio programs would be interrupted for those 10 minutes. In the evolution of my career I worked in radio at a national level and founded a record label, entering international mechanisms. Now it is beginning to give me great satisfaction.”

REGRET: “Yes, I wish I had had the courage to change countries and settle in London when it was proposed to me.”

FUNK yesterday and today: “Music is like fashion: it is cyclical. There is no before and after, everything comes back. Tracks are continuously revisited. I started with the Afro genre, New Wave, and of course Funk, which remains the foundation of house music and modern progressive house derivatives.”
