The first web event dedicated to Lucio Battisti

So, Discolovers, the time has come; today is the big day for the first I Love Disco Web Event, dedicated to the great Lucio Battisti.

If you are wondering why we chose this specific date, the answer is simple: on December 15, 1970, ‘Emozioni’ was released. It was Lucio Battisti’s third album, published by the Dischi Ricordi record label.

This is an anthology album that collects Battisti’s early tracks and songs from his last five singles. It was Battisti’s first album to reach number one on the charts, where it remained for two non-consecutive weeks between January and February 1971. The twelve tracks on this LP were Battisti’s first major hits, ranging from ‘Fiori rosa, fiori di pesco’ and ‘Acqua azzurra, acqua chiara’—winners of Festivalbar—to the classics ‘Emozioni’ and ‘Mi ritorni in mente.’ It is, therefore, a historic album that gathers memorable songs from the Battisti-Mogol collaboration, which have remained etched in the memory of the Italian public. I could list them all for you, but now, Discolovers, it is your turn to let loose. You have until midnight tonight to share your memories related to Battisti’s songs, your favorite track, in short… your EMOTIONS!
