The falsetto sound which came to be their calling card, is one of the most iconic in all of The Discoverse. These brothers, Barry, Robin and Maurice Gibb, hailing from Australia but originally The Isle of Man, that most unlikely of disco breeding grounds. Their style broke the black monopoly of funk and soul. Having been more rock orientated in their early years, they moved to disco in the early 70s with songs such as “You Should Be Dancin”. By the late 70s, they were a fully fledged power group of the disco movement, propelled to mega stardom by the soundtrack to Saturday Night Fever in 1977 which included the songs “Stayin Alive” “Night Fever” and “More Than A Woman”, they backed this up with more hits from the album Spirits Having Flown, which included the smash hit “Tragedy”. They started to fade by the 80s breaking up and reforming numerous times. But will always be remembered.
